Top Advantages Of Using Virtual Number For Your Business

iiit-bh.in

A virtual phone system lets you separate your personal and professional calls, but still gives you the flexibility and cost savings of operating your home business using your cell phone if you want. While there are plenty of virtual phone systems out there advertising themselves as the ideal partnership for home-based businesses, there are five key features that will help you identify companies worth your hard-earned dollars. It can be dangerous to give out your phone number to people you don’t know, and that’s normally the case when a website asks you for your phone number. Fortunately, just like with anonymous email addresses and debit cards, you can also grab an anonymous, virtual phone number to mask your real number. When you use a virtual phone number, only that number is known, not your real number, even though the virtual number might ring your real phone to establish the phone call. Anyone you call, and anyone who calls your virtual number, cannot see your real phone number. Check for Advantages Of Using Virtual Number For Your Business in Linkedphone

You can even prevent incoming calls from ringing your phones and just send all requests to voicemail.Making calls works similarly through the app or website.

What Is Search Engine Optimization Content Management

For Digital Marketing Companies Check Vivid Digital

Now that you have published your articles, content management comes into play. When it comes to content management, an SEO is mostly concerned about the accessibility of the content.

Choose the Correct Redirects

There will be times when you need to move domains or pages. If you want to prevent an overdose of 404-errors in Webmaster Tools you should implement redirects.

The two major redirects are 302 and 301. Webmasters often use a 302 redirect to send traffic to a new URL. Unfortunately this is seen as a temporary redirect so it passes no link juice to the new page. This means that the new page starts with a clean link profile. That’s why it’s best to use a 301 redirect. This is a permanent redirect that passes most link juice to the redirected page. For SEO Agency in London visit Vivid SEO

Add Structured Data

To make our content more useful for search engines, we can add structured data. Structured data is information formatted in a universally understandable way. By tagging specific pieces of text, search engines can understand the underlying meaning of it.

You can use microdata, microformats or RFDa to implement structured data. This markup is used by search engines to display rich snippets (e.g a star-rating, thumbnail, video duration, etc.). This can improve the CTR of you pages.

Great Design isn’t Always Crawlable

Not all content is accessible for search engines. As the title says: a beautiful page isn’t necessarily a page that’s optimized for search engines. A designer wants a page that looks good, whilst the SEO wants a page that can easily be crawled. The challenge is to combine these two approaches.

Problems can arise when certain page elements, for example a call-to-action or a discount-banner, are implemented as images. This allows the designer to easily manipulate fonts, textures, gradients, etc. But as a result, important information in the call to action or banner can’t be crawled because it’s embedded in the image.

Thankfully this problem can be solved with a combination of HTML and CSS. By using code instead of an image, these elements are fully crawlable. Web fonts are also handy for creating a visually appealing website (so you don’t have to use images as a work around). Google has a large collection of open source web fonts that you can use free of charge.

Another technique is the mouse-over effect. This is a great way to add crawlable content to an image. The example below combines the visual preference of the designer (the images) with the crawlable content for the SEO (the excerpt via the mouse-over effect).

Create Social Media Marketing Goals That Solve Your Biggest Challenges

icadl2013.org.in

The first step to any strategy is to understand what you want out of your efforts. Social media marketing isn’t about flipping a switch and calling it a day. Instead, social media planning should be looked at like cooking your favorite dish.Once you have your ingredients, you follow a recipe and presto! But that’s not always the case. What if you have guests and need to feed more people? What if someone is allergic to one of the ingredients? Suddenly, your goal goes from making a meal to ensuring it will feed enough people and be edible by all.

That’s why creating goals is so critical to the first part of your social media strategy. At the same time, it’s best to set goals that you know are attainable. Asking for 1 million new Instagram followers in 2018 is unrealistic. With achievable goals, you’re more likely to stick to the original plan and continue to take on new hurdles as you complete old ones. This is the same reason why brands should never take on every social media channel possible in their current marketing strategy. Try to choose the channels that have the most importance based on your brand’s goals. Avoid over complicating a strategy with too many targets and objectives. Simplicity can take you a long way. For SEO Agency in London visit Vivid SEO

And also, don’t forget to document your social media goals. Not only is it important to help you benchmark where you are, but it also improves your chances of achieving them. According to some statistics, people who write their goals down are 30 times more successful.

Social Media Goals to Consider in 2018

Goal setting is a staple of all marketing and business strategies. Social media is no exception. Of course, with a range of social capabilities, it can be difficult to determine exactly what your objectives should be. For guidance, here are some common social media goals to consider:

A. Increase brand awareness: To create authentic and lasting brand awareness, avoid a slew of promotional messages. Instead, focus on meaningful content and a strong brand personality through your social channels.

B. Higher quality of sales: Digging through your social channels is nearly impossible without monitoring or listening to specific keywords, phrases or hashtags. Through more efficient social media targeting, you reach your core audience much faster.

C. Drive in-person sales: Some retailers rely on social media marketing efforts to drive in-store sales. Is your brand promoting enough on social to reward those who come to you? What about alerting customers to what’s going on in your stores?

D. Improve ROI: There’s not a brand on social media that doesn’t want to increase its return on investment. But on social, this goal is specific to performing a thorough audit of your channels and ensuring cost of labor, advertisements and design stay on track. Digital Marketing Companies visit here

E. Create a loyal fanbase: Does your brand promote user-generated content? Do your followers react positively without any initiation? Getting to this point takes time and effort with creating a positive brand persona on social.

F. Better pulse on the industry: What are your competitors doing that seems to be working? What strategies are they using to drive engagement or sales? Having a pulse on the industry could simply help you improve your efforts and take some tips from those doing well.

Mercedes Benz GLA Class Review & Performance

Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class Overview

There is always a feeling of excitement whenever I drive a completely new car as there are so many questions, expectations and wishes that I have from it especially if the car is from a brand like Mercedes Benz.It is no longer a flash update that Mercedes Benz India has had a great year with a slew of launches. Their new design language has got them back in the game. Cars like A-Class and B-Class have really worked well in its favour as they have got new set of clients in addition to the existing ones. They have also reported positive growth and faced strong demand in the SUV segment with the GL-Class and ML-Class.The GLA, which also happens to be the newest and smallest SUV by Mercedes Benz, is based on the same platform as that of A-Class with added benefits of a compact SUV. Good news is that they have styled this one close to the concept and it looks as ravishing. We flew down to Chandigarh for a first drive experience of this brand new car.  Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class On road price starts from 30,63,762/-. Check for price details of Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class in CarzPrice

Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class Design

As far as facelifts go, the GLA update can best be described as mild. Mercedes has not altered any sheet metal and perhaps the biggest change to the exterior could be the addition of LED headlamps. The front also gets a new grille with perforated twin-blade design and the lower edge sees a new bumper cladding. On the sides, the car wears new five-spoke alloys and the rear gets redesigned crystal-effect LED tail lamps. That’s it as far as the exterior changes go. The rest is familiar territory, meaning you still get the small hatch styling similar to the A-class on which it is based. On the whole, the GLA does not have the stance of a traditional SUV but it does look appealing with its swoopy lines; it turned a few heads on our drive.

Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class Cabin

Mercedes Benz GLA Class interiors have high quality material for its upholstery that provides the cabin of the car a nice sporty yet elegant feel. The cabin is luxurious and spacious with leather seat covering giving enough evidence for the former. There are various Mercedes Benz GLA Class features, like panoramic glass roof for the rear portion, electric glass sliding sunroof for the front and a an effective multimedia system. The turbine resembling air con vents are a stylish addition. The interior trims are offered in two shades with the one being that of beige and grey white the other is an all black option. The all black looks young while the beige and grey gives a roomier feel to the cabin and also feels more plush and premium. There is no compromise in equipment and feature list as the GLA boasts of many features seen on more premium models.

While the above are all good aspects of the GLA, there are some non good ones too. Inside the GLA, one does feel more premium than competition cars but it does not feel spacious. Both row passengers will end up complaining about it. Headroom is low but the panoramic sunroof and its wide pocket makes up for it giving it an airy feel. Taller passengers would happily skip the rear passenger section. They have made smart usage by plonking the gear selector behind the steering wheel and also the emergency brake is right beneath still it does not feel spacious for front passengers.

Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class Engine

Our perception of the GLA was a compact SUV meant to be taken more on soft roads than off-roads. Taking it to GL territories is not much of a good idea. We must say that it was brave of Mercedes Benz to make us drive the GLA from Chandigarh to Shimla as the route had a mix of good wide roads and narrow patchy roads too.Theoretically, it should behave like the A-Class as they both share the same platform. Rewinding a bit to our A-Class drive, it impressed us with its stiff suspensions. Unlike other Benz cars back then, the A felt more responsive. The expectations were similar and more from the GLA as it is a feature rich SUV.

It was the more popular diesel that we chose to drive first. The diesel GLA is powered by a 2143cc engine producing 135.96PS at 3600 to 4400 rpm and a torque of 300Nm at 1600 to 3000 rpm. This unit as officially claimed does a 0 to 100km/h dash in 9.9 seconds. Describing this motor as a joy to drive won’t be right because it is meant for steady driving needs like highway commuting where steady and consistent performance is a priority. At initial speeds, the bigger displacement engine feels a bit lethargic and it is only when the throttle is pressed hard this lag diminishes. Once you have battled traffic and out on the highway, the diesel feels home as it keeps churning power at a constant rate. It does not respond as quickly as the other unit which might be a letdown during overtaking but then we can live with it.

The 7 speed dual clutch transmission lacks the crisp crack of a quick shift and the difference is evident. The same is felt on sports mode while shifting manually wherein the box is not as enthusiastic to upshift and downshift in a jiffy. The stiffer suspensions which are fine for smooth roads act against the ride quality and handling on rough roads. Finally, after going through the diesel in a brief manner, it was time for us to test the petrol. A petrol engine for an SUV might not sound convincing at first hear but then think of it as this, dimensions of a big car and a performance of a quicker engine clubbed together. The GLA petrol is a complete surprise package as firstly it is the only one ion the segment to offer a petrol unit. Secondly and most interestingly, this unit does 0 to 100km/h in 7.6 seconds, which is 2.3seconds quicker than the diesel.

Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class Rideing

One big improvement the GLA got in 2016 was a change in the driving modes which brought in an off-road and individual (customisable) mode. These remain on the current car and alter the powertrain and steering only, with no further changes to the suspension or other dynamic components of the car. In our earlier testing, we found the GLA to be no SUV but it can easily indulge in some light off-roading with the four-wheel drive and sufficient clearance. There is also a hill descent mode to bring the GLA down slopes in a controlled manner.

The steering is nice with a decent amount of feel but it isn’t consistent all through the turn. On our earlier testing, we weren’t impressed with the ride, finding it quite firm and crashy. On the facelifted car, there seems to be a small improvement. Mercedes says there hasn’t been any suspension change and this ride difference could be down to a different make of tyres. View offers on Mercedes Cars from Mercedes dealers in Hyderabad at Autozhop

Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class Safety

Mercedes Benz GLA Class has a strong safety system with the presence of adaptive brake lights flashing, attention assist, LED headlamps, hill start assist and many other features. Mercedes Benz GLA Class comes with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as well that reduces the chances to over steer and over turn. The SUV can crack a top speed of 205 kmph, which is again remarkable and with a strong suspension system, the vehicle is able to sustain all the difficulties of Indian roads with ease.

Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class Price

Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class Verdict

The most obvious comparison that the Mercedes Benz GLA will face is from Audi Q3. This is based vaguely on their respective body types and the price points at which both would be offered. The purpose and target audience of these two cars are significantly different. The GLA would attract young aspirational buyers, who want a stylish looking car with loads of features while the Audi Q3 is more for the real time driving enthusiasts, who wouldn’t mind taking it off tarmac once a while. There would be initial heat of competition between these two cars but that heat would die down once the consumers understand the difference between the two. The GLA would be offered in two variants only and we expect them to price it between Rs.33 lakhs to 35 lakhs on an ex-showroom level. Let us know your views in the comment section below.

Tougher Approval ; H1B Visa Extension Rule Changes

kazembassy.in

The H1B non-immigrant work visa continues to attract the attention of the Trump administration, and even without any new legislation there is wave of new rules and regulations. The most recent targets the H1B visa ‘extension’ process, making it tougher for existing H1B visa workers to renew their visa. This has previously been an easy approval but now that is all changing.

The Facts

A. The H1B visa is valid for three years, once the petition is approved

B. The visa can be extended for an additional one to three years, and in some cases longer

C. The basis for extension since 2004 was nearly automatic, and the burden was on the USCIS to show a reason to deny an extension

D. As of October 22, 2017, that rule has been modified to place the burden on the petitioner for any extension

New Rule Mean

Previously, eligibility for an H1B extension was based on the original petition, and no re-application of supporting documents and qualifications was required. Now, the new rule requires USCIS officers to scrutinize applications for extensions just as they would an original petition. It is essentially the same as submitting a new petition. The justification is as always to “protect the interests of US workers”. Check for H1B Visa Evaluation in UT Evaluators

The result of this change means:

A. Longer lead times to submit extension applications, due to assembling paperwork and USCIS review

B. Existing H1B visa workers are no longer guaranteed an extension, and may be caught off guard or won’t have time to process the extension prior to expiration

C. Some workers in positions that no longer qualify for new H1B visas (entry level computer programmers) will have their extensions denied

D. HR departments at large tech firms employing many H1B workers will have to increase their workload to assemble the extension applications

The Purpose of This Rule Change Is

The unstated purpose seems to be to ‘weed out’ current H1B workers who would be rejected if they were submitting a new petition. This could include many workers that are currently employed by outsourcing firms, and contracted out to other companies. Many of those workers (and their employers) were probably assuming that they would escape the barrage of H1B administrative reforms, since their petition was already previously approved.

For example, an entry level computer programmer who was hired two years ago, is now facing the almost certain prospect that any extension application will be denied. It is unlikely that these workers were planning to return home, and has a very real impact on the outsourcing companies that employ them.

It is definitely a blow to firms like Infosys and Wipro who were probably not factoring in a new level of intense scrutiny for extensions, and thinking that they could rely on their existing pool of current H1B visa workers.

Just an Internal Memo Made This Rule Change

This rule change was implemented by a simple internal memorandum within USCIS. It does illustrate the effectiveness of working within current immigration laws, and making internal agency regulations more difficult to comply with. For H1B Visa Process Visit here

This approach is aligned with the Trump administration’s overall H1B visa strategy, to make as many administrative changes as possible to restrict access to the program, by unqualified or low wage workers. This saves the time and political capital of pushing new legislation forward, and can be done with the stroke of a pen.

The good news is that new H1B petitioners are on the same playing level as existing H1B workers, so there is no advantage if a foreign national is already working in the US. Please contact us for assistance in finding a sponsor and position in your specialty occupation.

Volkswagen Polo Review & First Drive

Volkswagen Polo Overview

Volkswagen has unveiled the new sixth-generation Polo at a media reception held at its Wolfsburg headquarters in Germany. The all-new hatchback is an outwardly larger, significantly roomier and more technically sophisticated model than today’s eight-year-old car.Set to make its public debut at the upcoming Frankfurt motor show, the new Polo will be produced in five-door hatchback form only, with buyers offered the choice of up to six engines – the most powerful being a range-topping 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol unit good for 200hp powering the GTi model. Volkswagen Polo price range in India is between 5,40,595/- to 8,83,850/, check for detail pricing of Polo in Carzprice

getreadyoregon.org

Based around the German carmaker’s MQB A0 platform – the old car was underpinned by VW’s PQ25 platform, the new Volkswagen has grown quite significantly. Measuring in at 4,053mm in length, 1,7511mm in width and 1,446mm in height, it is 81mm longer, 63mm wider and 7mm lower than its predecessor. The wheelbase too is now 94mm longer at 2,564mm.Despite being immediately recognisable as a Volkswagen, VW designers have incorporated a number of new design elements on the new car, including a distinctive swage line graphic that provides additional structure to the bodywork in an area above the door handles.

Volkswagen Polo Design

Exterior looks have not changed much, and the family identity is still very much there. At the front, the three-strip chrome grille has been replaced in favour of a single-slat chrome grille. The company has toned down the usage of chrome in and around the front grille, which makes it look bold and rugged. The hatchback boasts an all-new front bumper, which compliments well the aforementioned thick striped grille around the air dam. The headlamp cluster along with the twin fog lamps looks good, although disappointingly daytime-running lights (DRL) has been left out this time. The Polo also benefits from an all new set of alloys and body-coloured door handles. The design of the tail-lamp cluster has also been tweaked slightly. Every change done to the exteriors, as mentioned before, are very slight and will only be noticeable to the practiced eye. Else, they are minor – an oh, of course – a new colour Copper Orange is added to the prevailing shades of Candy White, Night Blue, Flash Red, Carbon Steel, and Reflex Silver.

Volkswagen Polo Cabin

Volkswagen has been updating the Polo’s interiors from time to time and now the premium hatchback comes loaded with features like touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking camera, satellite navigation, USB and aux in-put, steering mounted audio controls. The GT range has full black interiors and this makes it look sportier. The space in the front row is good, however it is the second row that is tight on space making it difficult for tall people to seat behind.A number of new features have been added to make driving even more comfortable, and this includes new interior upholstery and finishes. The drivers’ seat is now height adjustable for extended comfort and convenience. The steering wheel is all new, with a flat bottom to give it a sporty feel and with multi-function buttons on the top models. The top end versions also get a piano finish near the Bluetooth and voice command buttons – all adding a rich feel to the car. The dual tone dashboard is also premium looking along with the all-new centre console. There are silver coloured elements all around, instead of dreary black and they help liven up the interior. The instrument cluster consists of tachometer, speedometer, odometer and trip meter. The centre multi-function display, which was bright red in colour and sometimes jarring, has been replaced with a monochrome display which is much more soothing to the eyes. A trip computer however is only part of the top models.

Volkswagen Polo Engine

Manufacturers are getting rid of older, inefficient engines and replacing them with cleaner, more efficient, smaller-capacity units to meet stringent emission norms. Volkswagen has done just this on the Polo hatchback and replaced the 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine with an all-new 1.0-litre, three-cylinder unit, codenamed EA211.This naturally aspirated 999cc may be smaller but it still makes a similar 76hp. But where the new engine loses out is torque; it pushes out only 95Nm compared to the earlier 1.2’s 110Nm.The kerb weight of the new Polo is down by 14kg, but performance still isn’t effortless. There’s a bit of a delay when you tap the accelerator and the engine takes its time to get moving. Overtaking needs planning and even the mid-range isn’t punchy. It will spin all the way to its 6,500rpm redline, with power and performance being built in a linear manner; but getting there takes a long time.

Outright acceleration is close to the 1.2 Polo’s, taking 16.5sec to reach 100kph from standstill. However, at idle, this engine is as silent as the Maruti Swift petrol. When it comes to first impressions, the refinement is remarkable. Get on the move, though, and there’s a hint of a rattle from the engine; spin it hard and it emanates a three-cylinder thrum, like before. Fuel efficiency is said to have improved by 2.31kpl, to a claimed 18.78kpl.The new five-speed gearbox is effortless and has short throws. Also, reverse gear isn’t up and away from the first anymore. It is in a more conventional place, beside the fourth (under fifth). The clutch pedal has a long travel with a springy action, requiring a bit more effort than usual. The steering, however, is direct and nicely weighted. And, as before, ride and handling are excellent.

Volkswagen Polo Rideing

The Polo is quite a bit of a drivers’ car, if such a term can be used here, The new leather strapped 3-spoke speed sensing electronic power steering makes handling effortless. The tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel is fairly light and responds instantly to the driver’s directional inputs. The sporty flat-bottom steering wheel design enables an individual to maneuver the hatchback quite comfortably through narrow roads and thick traffic. Coming on to the performance, the Polo is fairly competent. The diesel variants of Polo are capable of accomplishing the 100-kmph milestone from standstill in a shade over 13 seconds while clocking a respectable 165-kmph top speed. The petrol is a fair bit slower to 100-kmph, while the top whack is around 150kmph. The front suspension comprises of McPherson struts with a stabilizer bar and the rear has a semi-independent trailing arm. View offers on Volkswagen Cars from Volkswagen dealers in Hyderabad at Autozhop

Volkswagen Polo Safety

The Volkswagen Polo comes with features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ending immobiliser, central locking, child safety lock, fog lamps, reverse parking sensors and reverse parking camera depending on the variants.European car manufacturers never skimp on safety, and this is more than evident in the Polo, which now comes with dual front airbags as standard. The braking system comprising of ventilated discs up front and drum in rear wark fairly effectively, and the Comfortline and Highline versions also get an Antilock Braking System (ABS). Additionally, there are 3-point front seat belts, 3-point rear outer seat belts, lap belt in the middle, speed-sensing auto door locks, fog lamps and many more features to ensure maximum safety of the occupants. To protect your precious investment, every Polo comes with an engine immobilizer and alarm with floating codes to make thefts difficult.

Volkswagen Polo Verdict

The all-new Polo will go on sale internationally by the end of the year with production expected to start shortly. For India, Volkswagen recently signed an MoU with Tata Motors to use the latter’s AMP platform to develop models for the country. So, while a Polo replacement could be on the cards, it is yet unknown if VW will bring in a reengineered version of the all-new international model shown here or launch an indigenously developed alternative.Well, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration if it is termed the most complete hatchback ever seen in India in this price segment. With the best interior quality, powerful engine and aggressive pricing, it is a sheer delight to bring home.

H1B Visa Extensions not Under Threat, According to USCIS

Check for H1B Visa Evaluation in UT Evaluators

A spokesperson from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has stated that extensions to the H1B visa program are not under threat, as was widely reported at the start of January.

“USCIS is not considering a regulatory change that would force H1B visa holders to leave the United States by changing our interpretation of section 104(c) of AC-21, which provides for H1B extensions beyond the 6 year limit,” said Jonathan Withington, Chief of Media Relations for USCIS.

The news has resulted in a collective sigh of relief among the community of technology professionals seeking extensions to their time in the country. However, Homeland Security has stated that it was still conducting a thorough review of worker visa programs. For H1B Visa Process Visit here

Officials have said that the policy change for H1B extensions was never planned at all, although some reports say the administration changed its mind in response to the swift and harsh reaction from the business community. The work visa program has long been a political hot potato in the United States, with some politicians repeatedly calling for it to be scrapped, arguing that it led to job losses for Americans.

Each year, the USCIS grants roughly 85,000 H1B visas, which are issued for up to six years. Once expired, visa holders that have applied for green cards routinely seek extensions under the American Competitiveness Act.

Hyundai Xcent Hatchback First Drive & Performance

Hyundai Xcent Overview

Hyundai Xcent was firstly launched at the 2014 Auto Expo in the Indian market. The sedan never really was a super performer, nor it was a disappointment as it continued to garner moderate sales of around 3000-4000 units per month. But, from the past few months, the Xcent started losing its charm due to arrival of several up-market sedans. Plus, ageing was also a factor behind the dipping sales. Hence, it propelled Hyundai to come up with a mild facelift of the sedan with updates not just limited to cosmetics but mechanical as well. The new Xcent is introduced in both petrol and diesel fuel trims in five trim levels: E, E+, S, SX and SX (O). In addition, an automatic variant is also introduced in petrol fuel trims, based on the S trim. The petrol engine is retained while the 1.1L diesel engine is replaced with 1.2L unit, sourced from the recently launched Grand i10 facelift. The biggest highlight of the Xcent is undoubtedly the introduction of 7-inch touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. View offers on Hyundai Cars from Hyundai dealers in Hyderabad at Autozhop

It is based on the Grandi10 hatchback and thus borrows similar looks. It is just an additional boot which makes all the difference. Hyundai’s much acclaimed Fluidic Design language has really worked well on all its cars. However, the Xcent doesn’t look as ‘Wow!’ as other Hyundais in India. The hexagonal grille is bold in design. The headlights sweep back towards the side as well as on the bonnet making it look large. The lower section of the front bumper has multiple crease lines.

The Xcent too gets machined alloy wheels like the Grandi10. The side profile looks balanced with the additional boot. It does not look as coarse as the Swift DZire. It has a wheelbase of 2425mm which is exactly the same in the hatchback. This effectively means the interior space remains untouched but this time the luggage space has been increasedThe new rear end looks smart and crisp with no additional lines. It has been kept clean without giving any fussy design elements. The tail lamps are again similar in design but the reflection shape and style has been changed in the Xcent which makes it look clean.

Hyundai Xcent Space

The biggest change on the inside is noticeable in form of the updated 7.0-inch touchscreen. The update brings the same new software that’s on its big sister, the Elantra, and the system allows drivers to use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among multiple other useful apps. Functionality is slick, connecting your phone is nice and easy and CarPlay works so well here, it makes using the phone so much safer. What’s also evident is the huge step up in quality in comparison to other cars in this class. While the quality of the cabin hasn’t been improved further, the fit and finish of the dash, the way in which the steering is crafted, the deft manner in which the controls function, all point to a very high level of sophistication. The finish of the steering wheel is, in fact, so good, the detailing so fine that it could pass muster on a much more expensive car. And the same goes for the gear lever – it’s nothing short of a work of art, its chrome, leather and Plexiglas finish a complete joy to hold. The cabin isn’t too wide and sitting three abreast in the back will be tight. But even backseat comfort is good. There’s a fair amount of legroom, the seat base is placed at a good height and you even get an air-con vent to keep you cool. The backrest of the Xcent, however, is a bit too reclined and not as comfortable as it could have been.

Hyundai Xcent Gearbox

Hyundai Xcent, identical to its predecessor, comes in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. The petrol variants retain the same 1.2L 4-cylinder Kappa dual VTVT engine which develops top power of 82bhp at 6000rpm and peak torque of 114Nm at 4000rpm. It is linked to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard, while it is also available with a 4-speed automatic gearbox in S grade.Coming to the diesel front, the 1.1L engine has gone for a toss in favour of a new and more powerful 1.2L 3-cylinder U2 CRDi engine, which generates maximum power output of 74bhp at 4000rpm highest torque performance of 190Nm between 1750-2250rpm. It is on offer with only a 5-speed manual gearbox.

2017 Hyundai Xcent petrol variants deliver mileage of 20.14kmpl and 17.36kmpl (Both ARAI Specified) with manual and automatic transmissions, respectively. On the other hand, the diesel variants returns fuel efficiency of 25.40kmpl (ARAI Specified).

Hyundai Xcent Rideing

Hyundai has also improved bump absorption and ride quality. There’s a fair amount of suppleness in the suspension, bad patches are ridden over with consummate ease and acoustic isolation is so good you hardly ever hear the wheels thumping over rough ground. Only sharp bumps and ridges tend to catch the car out, the occasional ‘whack’ heard when riding over them. Even the steering and handling is nicer. The former is now lighter to use, smoother in operation and more accurate. And grip from the chassis is now so good, the Xcent is actually quite fun to drive around corners. The 2017 Hyundai Xcent comes with improved handling as comapred to its precedessor. The company engineers have worked hard towards the light steering wheel. The power delivery in the diesel variants is smoother due to the new engine. The NVH levels are immensely controlled and one seldom hear a noise even at low speeds. It feels pretty decent behind the steering wheel.

Hyundai Xcent Safety

Hyundai Xcent comes with disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The company has offered dual front airbags as standard fitment across the entire variant line-up of the new sedan. In addition, several premium features such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Impact Sensing Auto Door Unlock, Keyless entry with Smart Key, Rear Parking Sensors, Rear Camera with display on audio, Central Locking, etc. are available with the top-end variants. Though, it looks bleaker than the preceding model, which had ABS as standard safety feature. Also, the other sedans in the segment come equipped with more safety features than Xcent.

Hyundai Xcent Bottomline

The Xcent ticks all boxes for someone looking for a practical car. It gets class leading features along with a spacious cabin. Prices start from Rs.486516 and go all the way to Rs. 775855. The Xcent directly rivals Honda Amaze and Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire. Honda Amaze is priced between Rs.534018 to Rs.791240 while the DZire is priced between Rs. 512306 to Rs.761679.All the three brands hold a strong position in the Indian car industry. These three cars have their individual characteristics. Hyundai Xcent will appeal to the ones seeking a feature rich entry sedan. Also, since it comes from a brand like Hyundai, trust and confidence will be a package deal.

What Is Norm-Referenced And Criterion-Referenced Evaluation

Two alternative approaches to educational testing that must be thoroughly understood are norm-referenced testing and criterion-referenced testing. Although there are similarities between these two approaches to testing, there are also fundamental differences between norm and criterion referenced testing. There have been disputations about the relative virtues of norm and criterion-referenced measurements for a long time. However, a fundamental fact is recognised by most of concerned people that norm-referenced and criterion-referenced testing are complementary approaches. Check for Educational Evaluations in US at UT Evaluators

(i) Criterion-Referenced Evaluation:

When the evaluation is concerned with the performance of the individual in terms of what he can do or the behaviour he can demonstrate, is termed as criterion- referenced evaluation. In this evaluation there is a reference to a criterion. But there is no reference to the performance of other individuals in the group. In it we refer an individual’s performance to a predetermined criterion which is well defined.

Examples:

(i) Raman got 93 marks in a test of Mathematics.

(ii) A typist types 60 words per minute.

(iii) Amit’s score in a reading test is 70.

A simple working definition of Criterion-Referenced Evaluation :

A criterion-referenced test is used to ascertain an individual’s status with respect to a defined achievement domain. In the above examples there is no reference to the performance of other members of the group. Thus criterion-referenced evaluation determines an individual’s status with reference to well defined criterion behaviour.

It is an attempt to interpret test results in terms of clearly defined learning outcomes which serve as referents (criteria). Success of criterion-reference test lies in the delineation of all defined levels of achievement which are usually specified in terms of behaviourally stated instructional objectives.

The purpose of criterion-referenced evaluation/test is to assess the objectives. It is the objective based test. The objectives are assessed, in terms of behavioural changes among the students.Such type of test assesses the ability of the learner in relation to the criterion behaviour. Glasar (1963) first used this term, ‘Criterion-reference test’ to describe the learner’s achievement on a performance continuum.Hively and Millman (1974) suggested a new term, ‘domain-referenced test’ and to them the word ‘domain’ has a wider connotation. A criterion referenced test can measure one or more assessment domain.

(ii) Norm Referenced Evaluation:

Norm-referenced evaluation is the traditional class-based assignment of numerals to the attribute being measured. It means that the measurement act relates to some norm, group or a typical performance. It is an attempt to interpret the test results in terms of the performance of a certain group. This group is a norm group because it serves as a referent of norm for making judgements.

Test scores are neither interpreted in terms of an individual (self-referenced) nor in terms of a standard of performance or a pre-determined acceptable level of achievement called the criterion behaviour (criterion-referenced). The measurement is made in terms of a class or any other norm group.Almost all our classroom tests, public examinations and standardised tests are norm-referenced as they are interpreted in terms of a particular class and judgements are formed with reference to the class. Educational Evaluations in US visit here

Examples:

(i) Raman stood first in Mathematics test in his class.

(ii) The typist who types 60 words per minute stands above 90 percent of the typists who appeared the interview.

(iii) Amit surpasses 65% of students of his class in reading test.

A simple working definition Norm Referenced Evaluation :

A norm-referenced test is used to ascertain an individual’s status with respect to the performance of other individuals on that test.In the above examples, the person’s performance is compared to others of their group and the relative standing position of the person in his/her group is mentioned. We compare an individual’s performance with similar information about the performance of others.

That is why selection decisions always depend on norm- referenced judgements. A major requirement of norm-referenced judgements is that individuals being measured and individuals forming the group or norm, are alike. In norm-referenced tests very easy and very difficult items are discarded and items of medium difficulty are preferred because our aim is to study relative achievement.

Maruti Suzuki Ignis Engine & Performance

Maruthi Suzuki Ignis Overview

The Maruti Suzuki Ignis is a revolutionary car by Maruti Standards trying to bring a fresh design philosophy in the bare-bones hatchback segment in India. Aimed at the millennials, the Ignis was first showcased as the Suzuki iM-4 concept at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and later unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. The Ignis competes against the entry-level B-segment hatches to start with and which include the Ford Figo, Tata Bolt, Hyundai Grand i10 and the Mahindra KUV100. The top trims are expensive and you can opt for compact sedans like the Dzire, Amaze or the Xcent which offer you much more space and similar equipment. For information on contact details of Maruthi car dealers in Bangalore

Maruthi Suzuki Ignis Look

The biggest USP of the Maruti Ignis is its distinct styling that immediately catches attention on the road. The crossover silhouette makes it a tall boy while the modern design language separates its identity from the regular lot of Marutis. The front profile is clean yet attractive with the wide grille extending towards the headlamps. The LED DRLs are wrapped around the projector headlamps that illuminate the road very well, there are no halogen lights. The bumper looks sporty integrating the fog lamps in chrome housing.

The side profile is dominated by the pronounced wheel arches with cladding and contrasting black alloys. Furthermore, the straight bonnet along with a high roofline and flat rear profile makes it look like a pseudo SUV. The C-Pillar gets a very distinct kink with stylish indents that might remind you of the Adidas logo, it looks sporty. Now the rear profile of the Ignis has got a “love it or hate it” design. Though looks are subjective but we like the classic touches of the squared out tail lights and the heavily cladded rear bumper. The Ignis also comes with dual tone colours like the Vitara Brezza. Also, you can customise the roof with different wraps.

Maruthi Suzuki Ignis Comfort

The interior layout is also in keeping with the exterior design. Maruti has cleverly used black and off-white interiors to enhance the sense of space in the cabin. That said, the lower portion of the dash and the door pads are prone to getting soiled too easily and it’ll be quite a task to keep these clean. The plastic quality too in these areas feels like its from the budget end of the parts bin.

The Ignis AMT is available in the Delta and Zeta variants only. The latter is what you see here and it loses out on goodies such as LED headlamps, DRLs, a touchscreen infotainment system, climate control and the cool toggle switches on the centre console that you get in the top-end Alpha variant. I also have a gripe with the music system in the Zeta variant. The sound output is average; the speakers seem like they are from a car in the ’90s. An aftermarket system, hence, is highly recommended.

Cabin space, as Rahul rightly pointed, is adequate to seat four adults only, so let the ‘based on the Baleno platform’ sales pitch not fool you into believing you’ll have space equal to that car. What you do get, however is generous knee and head room at the rear. The front seats are pretty comfortable and the generous bolstering offers great support, which I think is great for a reason that I’ll come to later.

Maruthi Suzuki Ignis Performance

Driving the car will leave you more than impressed. Maruti-Suzuki has gone the tried and tested way with a choice of a 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel motors on offer. These engines have served a number of Maruti cars for years now and have proven their reliability, efficiency and performance.

What’s more is that AMT options are available on both engines. The petrol engine uses variable valve timing, making 82bhp and 113Nm of torque. Characteristically, this engine is peaky in nature and starts to sing post 4,000rpm where progress is rapid with an affable Suzuki engine note. At idle, this engine is so silent and refined you’d have to put in some effort to hear it run. The refinement remains on the move as there were no vibrations to speak of even as speeds built up. We only drove the manual variant and it shifts positively with solid clicks from gear to gear.

The diesel engine has been well known for its frugality and adequate power delivery. In the Ignis, this engine develops 75bhp and 190Nm, compensating the deficit in horsepower over the petrol variant. The diesel definitely felt faster and more responsive at lower revs. Turbo-lag is controlled and once over 2,000rpm, it keeps pulling effortlessly in each gear. Maruti claims to have tweaked the AMT transmission to shift quicker and it showed through as up-shifts were more timely and accurate to throttle inputs than the AMT-equipped Dzire diesel.

Maruthi Suzuki Ignis Rideing

The suspension in the Ignis is set up to offer a firm ride. This causes you to feel bumps and potholes at low speeds; however, ride quality does improve as speeds rise. That said, driving over sharp potholes causes the suspension to protest with a loud thud which is quite disconcerting.

After driving over a fairly bad stretch of tarmac, I was left wondering why Maruti chose such a firm set-up and the answer to that was revealed as soon as I encountered a set of corners. The Ignis is quite enjoyable around a bend; however, there is a hint of body roll that you need to get past. The front end has ample of grip to pull the car into a corner and there’s only a hint of understeer when you are at the limit.

Turn in is quick and precise for the car’s dimensions and mid corner bumps do not unsettle the car. The manual mode also makes it involving to drive with the rallycar-like shift pattern further enhancing the experience. What robs the Ignis petrol AMT of earning the tag of a driver’s car though is the disconnected steering. While it’s light and easy in the city, it does not weigh up as much as you’d want with increase in speed. Better feedback in corners would have certainly upped the fun quotient that this car offers otherwise .

Maruthi Suzuki Ignis Safety

It is one aspect where Maruti has truly excelled. Maruti Ignis specifications include dual front airbags, seatbelts with pre-tensioner and force limiter (PTFL), and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) as standard fitments. In addition, ISOFIX Anchorage – a child seat restraint system – is also offered as a standard feature with the entire Ignis variant lineup.

Maruthi Suzuki Ignis Price in Hyderabad

Maruthi Suzuki Ignis Bottomline

Yes, the Ignis is a dressed up hatch, and it has shortcomings. Its styling is head-turning but polarising, and it looks a bit awkward when viewed from the rear. Its interiors, although funky, could do with a bit more finesse. However, the Ignis is very well equipped and spacious. The way it rides and drives makes it feel sophisticated and friendly to use too. The option of well-engineered automatic transmissions widens the Ignis’ repertoire further. The Ignis may seem pricey, but bear in mind it packs ABS, EBD, airbags and crash safety measures engineered into its chassis. All in all, the Ignis packs attitude and appeal, outside and inside, to drive and own, and is properly sensible too. The Ignis is a hatchback, and a statement too.
